IN BRUGES

I never pay much attention to the awards shows and I certainly will not subject myself to actually watching that crap. However, I just noticed that Collin Farrell won Best Actor in a Comedy. That was one of my favorite movies this year and the first thing I've liked Collin Farrell in since A Home at the End of the World. I was also happy Heath Ledger won. As much as I did not enjoy The Dark Knight, his performance was an amazing thing to see. Don't get me wrong, I thought The Dark Knight was a terrific movie. It was just so intense that it became unpleasant. It affected me about the same way Blue Velvet did the first time I saw it. Great movies, but not exactly fun entertainment.
